A new Battle Royale game has been announced that aims to embellish the genre with some special features. Zeus Battlegrounds is free-to-play and is currently in a testing phase.
Zeus Battleground – a “divine” Battle Royale: The first images of Zeus are reminiscent of “SMITE meets Fortnite”. The game is being developed by Industry Games, a young company that was founded in 2013 with private funds.
What is Zeus Battlegrounds?
BR with special features: Zeus Battlegrounds is a free-to-play Battle Royale game where you fight with 100 players on a massive map to be the last one standing. It offers many typical BR genre features such as leaderboards, seasons, solo and team play with up to four players, and first and third-person perspectives.
To stand out from the flood of other Battle Royale games, Zeus Battlegrounds offers some special features. You will be sent to the map by Zeus himself as demigods to prove yourselves as victors in battle.
Special features of Zeus Battlegrounds include:
- A combat system built around melee combat
- Divine powers
- Legendary weapons
- Horses and chariots for movement
- 4 tiers of god-like armor
- Customizable male and female characters
For which platforms is Zeus coming? According to the developers, Zeus is a game for PC via Steam, Xbox One, and PS4. Here is the direct link to the Steam page of Zeus Battlegrounds.
How can I play? Zeus Battlegrounds is currently in early access beta. PC players can participate in the beta by simply signing up on the official site for the beta test.
The next tests for Zeus Battlegrounds are:
- Friday, September 7 from 7:00 PM until an undetermined time (Friday 10 A.M. PST)
- Thursday, September 13 from 2:00 AM to 5:00 AM (Wednesday 5 P.M.-8 P.M. PST)
- Friday, September 14 from 7:00 PM until an undetermined time (Friday 10 A.M. PST)
A final release date has not yet been established.
The community is divided: The reactions to the trailer of Zeus Battlegrounds on YouTube vary. Some people celebrate the idea of gods being featured in a Battle Royale. Others are fans of Greek mythology and find it a great setting.
