Wizard Challenges in Fortresses
In this guide, we want to prepare you well for the challenges so that you can get the most out of it.
Preparation for a wizard challenge
If you rush into such a challenge unprepared, you may end up wasting your spell energy. That’s why we provide you with starter tips.
- Plan enough time: For a challenge, you should have at least 5 minutes. The events have a limit of 5 to 6 minutes. You need to reserve this time for yourself.
- Enough spell energy: During a challenge, you need to cast spells multiple times. So, it’s best to have 10 to 15 spell energy per challenge with you.
- Healing potions: Depending on the difficulty level of the challenge, powerful opponents await you. So brew some healing potions in advance. It’s always good to have 10 or more healing potions in your possession.
- Runestones: To enter a wizard challenge, you need to use a runestone. The stone determines the difficulty of the encounter.
If you fail the challenge, you lose your used items. So make sure you are strong enough to take on the opponents.
Using runestones to start a wizard challenge
When you open your dungeon, you will find the runestones in your inventory at the fourth symbol from the left. Call them for an overview.
When you start a wizard challenge, you need to use such a stone.
- The higher the number on the runestone, the tougher the opponents and the rarer the yield (the findable items)
- The type of runestone determines what rewards you can receive from the challenge
- You can select a runestone based on which register you are still missing findable items
How to start a wizard challenge
To start a challenge, you need a fortress and must stand within its immediate range.
Then use a runestone of your choice to start the challenge.
- Tap the fortress on the screen
- If you are close enough, an overview of challenges will open
- Choose one from there that corresponds to your level
- You must first successfully complete a lower challenge to enter a higher one
- Now wait for the countdown to finish – During this time, up to four more players can join
- Now you must face the opponents you encounter in the challenge
There are multiple battles in a challenge. The number of players affects how many monsters appear.
How to fight
The preparation: To ensure your battles are successful, it is advisable to distribute skill points in your profession. The talents you unlock with your profession’s courses are very important and make you much stronger.
Open your travel case for this, select “Profession”, choose one of them, and then look into its courses where you can distribute books. This strengthens the character.
To use such a profession spell, pull it out of the battle bar during an encounter with enemies and drag it over an opponent or an ally, depending on whom you want to cast the spell on.
The battle: You may already be familiar with this type of battles from other encounters.
- Aim your wand at your opponent by drawing the spell circle over the attack circle on the screen.
- Hold the spell circle over the attack circle until it is fully charged.
- Now trace the pattern on the screen as accurately and quickly as possible.
- This is how you attack
- Defend against opponent attacks by swiping in the indicated direction before the opponent attacks
- When the battle is halfway through, you can use healing potions without losing a turn. This restores endurance. This is important so that you do not collapse before the opponent.
- If your health points fall to 0, you become K.O. – For about 30 seconds, you are then incapacitated. Your combat progress remains intact
- You can use a profession spell at the cost of focus. Focus is the bottom bar under your profession spells.
As a tip, our reader Alexander writes: In battles that aren’t close, it’s better to go K.O. than to use a potion. If there is still enough time left, you only lose 30 seconds of battle time and don’t have to sacrifice a potion for it.
You win if you can defeat all opponents within the time limit.
In Stormi’s video, you can see how such a challenge is conducted.
Wizard Challenges Solo or in a Group?
You can tackle the wizard challenges solo or with multiple players. The number of players positively influences the amount of rewards.
- The advantage of solo play: You don’t have to wait for other players and can start right away
- The advantages of group play: More rewards, mutual support, cool experience
It is not necessary to fight as a group in smaller chambers, but it is worth it. Magizoologists and professors can heal other players.
