Shortly before the start of the gamescom 2023, many influencers explain that they will be on-site and how to meet them. The German YouTuber Maximilian “HandOfBlood” Knabe offers pictures on Twitter – but only if you beat him up behind Hall 8.
This is what HandOfBlood says:
- At gamescom 2023, many studios with their games as well as gaming influencers will be present.
- HandOfBlood, one of the most famous German YouTubers in the gaming sector, is apparently also in Cologne.
- Now he says on Twitter: “If you want a photo this year, you need to beat me up behind Hall 8.”
These are the reactions: Within a short time, the influencer received tons of responses from people who apparently want to accept his offer. Among them are particularly well-known names in gaming such as:
- Gino Singh, who became known as a fitness guru on Rocket Beans and Bonjwa
- GermanLetsPlay, one of the first major German Let’s Players
- Viet Ruan, one of the editors at Rocket Beans
Also, Maurice Weber, one of our own influencers and strategy experts here at Webedia, chimes in. However, he asks whether instead of physical blows, a beating in Magic is also possible – which HandOfBlood affirms.
Even the official German channel of Bethesda responds and offers protection in their own truck, which is also located behind Hall 8. Bethesda is one of the exhibitors present and is currently preparing the release of Starfield.
Big streamer brawl of 2022 is still a topic
The trigger for HandOfBlood’s tweet was probably the brawl between Tanzverbot and Scurrows at gamescom 2022. The altercation quickly escalated into a mass brawl among fans and dominated the coverage around the event.
The second major topic was the mass gathering caused by the presence of MontanaBlack. Here, there was extensive personal protection and at times no way through for regular visitors.
The organizers have already announced measures to prevent another incident. There will now be a “Creator Co-Working Space” for influencers in one of the halls as well as a social area where visitors can meet their stars.
The kickoff for gamescom 2023 will be the Opening Night Live on Tuesday, August 22. However, the host has already somewhat lowered expectations here:
