YouTuber Dave “DAVE” Heinrichs has released his YouTube show The Race this year. Now there is supposed to be a second season, and the filming is likely to take place later this year.
What is The Race about? The YouTube show follows five participants on their journey from one country back to Germany. It passes through many other countries, and the participants have nothing but their passport, some food, a bottle, and camping equipment.
Additionally, there are important rules, such as that only one border may be crossed with a means of transportation, not multiple, and help can only be accepted from strangers, not from friends or family. These and other rules make the format a great entertainment that millions loved.

What is the biggest change in the second season? For this season, in addition to the regular participants, according to Dave (via YouTube), there will also be a wildcard candidate. This means that anyone can apply for the format, and one person will be selected from the applications.
The following criteria must be met:
- Minimum age of 18
- Upload a 90-second introduction video on YouTube
- Form with further information must be filled out
- Be able to take between ten and fourteen days off later this year
Especially with the last statement, Dave revealed information that he also immediately confirmed in the YouTube video: “Filming will even start this year.”
How else will the second season look? Further information about the location or names of the other participants are not yet known. It is suspected that the other candidates will also be “unknown” as in the first season, meaning they will not have a large following. This was at least positively highlighted by many viewers in the first season.
Even before Dave’s call for applications, the desire of viewers to be part of the format was great. According to him, many have already contacted him via direct message to request participation.
