The former Twitch streamer Ludwig Ahgren has been recognized many times within the streaming industry for his activities. However, he did not expect one award: the “Gaymer of the Year” award from the dating platform Grindr.
What kind of streamer is he? The streamer Ludwig Ahgren has been part of the US streaming scene for years. He initially started on Twitch but then switched to YouTube.
In the meantime, Ludwig is one of the biggest streamers who repeatedly hosts major events, such as “Chess Boxing”. He even owned a company that he later sold to the employees for 2 USD.
In the past, he has already won several awards in the gaming industry, including “Streamer of the Year” in 2022 and 2024 at the Streamer Awards and “Content Creator of the Year” in 2022 at the Game Awards.

Ludwig is Grindr’s “Gaymer of the Year”
What kind of dating platform is this? Grindr is a dating platform for gay men. They can use it to meet, hang out, and date other gay men.
This is the award: As part of their own “Wrapped”, a type of data analysis originally launched by the music streaming platform Spotify, Grindr released data about its users. They call it “Unwrapped”.
Additionally, categories were created where users could vote for their favorite. These included “Baby Girl of the Year,” “Hottest Man,” and also “Gaymer of the Year.”
The “Gaymer of the Year” award had five spots. Ludwig came in first place.
“I am not gay”
Why is this interesting? In the category, the other four spots were occupied exclusively by queer streamers, except for Ludwig:
- 5th place: DeVoglaer
- 4th place: Hazlanz
- 3rd place: farrahrized
- 2nd place: upuntil.dawn
Ludwig thus felt the need to clarify that he is not gay. He said in a short video on YouTube: “I am not gay. (…) And after seeing the other spots, I feel like this should have gone to a gay person.”
