The former Twitch streamer Ludwig Ahgren (27) is now a successful YouTuber. His net worth is estimated to be around 7 million US dollars. But it wasn’t always like this, in the past, the 27-year-old had to work a normal job. Now he shared the story of how his job at Snapchat came to an abrupt end.
What kind of story is this? In a stream from last year, Ludwig mentioned that he used to work for the messaging service Snapchat. It was cool, he said, but he stole a lot – although he doesn’t think that’s why he got fired.
Recently, he shared the story again on his YouTube channel.
Ludwig liked to take “work” home
What did Ludwig do? As the YouTuber reports, Snapchat provided its employees with free snacks and drinks, as one would expect from a cool tech company. For him, that was his only source of food, he was that broke – his colleague Amouranth was better off.
Every Friday, I would bring two reusable bags from Trader Joe’s to the Snapchat headquarters and fill them to the brim – right at midnight, so I knew that no one was in the office. Then I would take them home for the weekend.
Especially the small red cheese pieces from Babybel seemed to please him. Ludwig also stocked up on coconut water, fruit-flavored water, and plenty of energy drinks – of course, to work all night. I wonder if he can get his own energy drink with this story?
According to the streamer, this was not stealing: If he had consumed the food in the office, it would have been fine, so he could just take it home when he was working there. Well, maybe he took a little extra, he adds. We’ve embedded the clip for you here:
How did it end? The streamer recounts that he was eventually caught. He was told that he had taken merchandise worth 2,500 US dollars (about 2,300 euros today). Shortly thereafter, he was fired – although he doesn’t think that was fair.
By now, Ludwig probably no longer needs to pull off such antics. With over 4.7 million subscribers, he is successful on YouTube. With his special events, the streamer can also attract several hundred thousand viewers:
