The F2P game Ninjala for the Nintendo Switch can be a lot of fun. Especially when you have figured out which button to press in which situations in the colorful world. MeinMMO explains why you might want to take a closer look at the game.
This is Ninjala: Little kiddie ninjas, colorful battle arenas, and weapons based on bubble gum. Okay, it doesn’t quite have the classic stealthy ninja vibe. Rather, it sounds like the fever dream of a bubble gum junkie on a nasty sugar trip. And yes, this impression is confirmed when you first boot up the free game on the Switch.
Everything is cute and stylistically somewhat reminiscent of “Splatoon.” The driving music is as far away from an atmospheric ninja vibe as it could possibly be. “Crazy,” one thinks – even though colorful and unusual game ideas on the Switch are to be expected.
You hope for the “so ridiculous that it’s good” effect. But after a few rounds, it quickly becomes clear: Wait a minute – this is a pretty fun fighting game.
