There is a trick in Battlefield 6 to safely blow up tanks, but you must neglect your actual task for it.
How can you safely eliminate enemy tanks? In Battlefield 6, there is the scout drone again, a small flying drone that you can equip and control as a gadget when playing as the scout. You can use this drone to eliminate enemy tanks.
Battlefield veterans surely already know the trick.
First, you need to combine the drone with C4 explosives. Go to the drone control and hover it near your soldier. Then exit the drone and equip your C4. You now have to attach this to your drone. It’s best to attach at least three C4s, as one is not enough to blow up a tank that hasn’t taken damage yet. Fly the prepared drone into the tank and detonate the C4. Voilà, tank destroyed.
However, keep in mind that the drone’s battery depletes much faster once the C4 is attached. So, only use this method when an enemy tank is nearby. And don’t forget, you have to detonate the C4 manually. The crash of the drone is not enough.
Why isn’t this actually your task? The scout is primarily for reconnaissance, as the name suggests. The drone is an incredibly powerful tool to provide your team with a lot of intel on enemy positions and gadgets, especially since it features thermal vision.
If you use the drone to blow up a tank, you won’t have another one available initially. You will have to respawn or start your drone’s regeneration at a supply crate.
Also, you actively forgo other scout gadgets that can also help reveal enemy units for the C4. Overall, the destruction of vehicles primarily falls to the engineer.
The drone doesn’t need C$ to destroy tanks
How else can you destroy tanks? Normally, vehicles do not trigger the mines of their own team. However, with the UAV drone, it is possible to blow up enemy mines. You can use this to destroy a tank with your own team’s mines. Simply detonate the enemy mines when a tank is standing on them.
Alternatively, you can build a good old C4 jeep. Stick the explosives to the car, race into the enemy tank, jump out of the vehicle just before the crash, and detonate the C4 attached upon contact – this strategy, however, is anything but safe.
