You can now play Red Dead Redemption 2 online with friends. However, there are a few requirements you must meet. You can find out what they are here.
Red Dead Online is now live and online games are best played with friends. However, you still need to complete a few things with the random matchmaking before you can do that.
This is what you need to do before you can play with friends:
- Complete the first story mission where you steal horses
- Set up your first camp
From now on, you can invite friends and be in groups of up to 8 players.
Invite friends and join other players
This is how you invite friends or join a session:
- In Free Roam mode, open the Free Roam menu. On PS4, this is the left arrow on the D-Pad.
- Select “Players”. You can access Friends, Crew, and Recent Players via the shoulder buttons.
- Now select “Friends” and here you can see and select your friends directly.
- You can now choose between “Invite” and “Join Session”.
Once you’ve done that, you can finally play together specifically with friends.
In the described menu, you will also find the ability loadout of friends and you can see their posse details as well.
