Two new shiny forms have now been confirmed in Pokémon GO: Shiny Grimer and Shiny Geodude.
Since the start of the first Ultra Bonuses on Thursday evening, trainers have been finding new shiny Pokémon. These shiny forms are now available from the species Geodude and Grimer.
New Shinies of the Kanto Event
Shortly after the start of the event, happy trainers already posted the new shiny forms that can now be found in Pokémon GO. They will remain in the game even after the event.
Shiny Grimer:
Similarity to Alolan Grimer: Many trainers confuse this shiny form with the Alolan form of Grimer. To distinguish between the two forms, you can remember that Alolan Grimer has yellow slime around its mouth.
Shiny Geodude:
Why Grimer and Geodude? It is still unclear why Niantic has released these two shinies.
Community Speculations: There is hope now that additional shiny forms will be released throughout the month. This Kanto event would be a good opportunity for the developers to release further shiny forms. However, nothing in this direction has been announced by Niantic.
The Kanto Event and the Ultra Bonus
These new shinies have been appearing since Thursday evening, September 13, shortly after 10:00 PM German time. At that time, the first bonuses of the Ultra Bonus started in Pokémon GO.
More Kanto spawns: In the wild and in raids, first-generation Pokémon are now appearing more frequently. There has also been a rotation in the raids.
New raid bosses: In level 1 raids, you will now encounter Dratini, which is usually only rarely found. In level 4 raids, you will find Lapras. We have compiled an overview of the new raid bosses in Pokémon GO for the Kanto event.
What else does the Ultra Event bring? You will now also find four regional Pokémon in the 7 KM eggs. Additionally, Mewtwo will enter the regular raids in a few days and is accessible to all players for the first time outside of EX raids.
