The German horror game SIGNALIS is currently 20% off on Steam. Until Sunday, you can get the award-winning game for 16 euros.
SIGNALIS is a classic “Survival Horror” game, inspired by old classics like Resident Evil and Silent Hill. As an Android, you explore a dystopian, destroyed complex full of enemies and try to piece together your own fragmented memories.
Here you can see the trailer for SIGNALIS:
A horror game full of androids and puzzles
In SIGNALIS, you awaken as an android named Elster from cryosleep on an ice planet. On this planet, there is an abandoned corporate complex that you try to explore in order to find Elster’s lost partner and piece together her fragmented memories.
The exploration takes place in classic survival horror gameplay. Using tank controls like Silent Hill, you navigate through the abandoned rooms of the complex. But you are not alone, and you must defend yourself with various weapons and items.
Like its other genre representatives, you must manage your resources such as ammunition and medipacks carefully and consider whether each fight is worth it. In addition to the battles, there are many puzzles that you need to solve to progress deeper into the complex.
The game is accompanied by a confusing but exciting story, which mainly thrives on its atmosphere. The tale of fragmented dreams and visions also reminds one of anime like Neon Genesis Evangelion.
If you have not had any contact points with anime, we have 5 series that can lure you into anime.
How much does SIGNALIS cost? You can currently get SIGNALIS with a 20% discount. Instead of €19.99, you pay €15.99. This offer is valid until Sunday, May 21, 2023.
How is SIGNALIS rated? On Steam, the game currently has 96% positive reviews. (via Steam, as of May 17, 2023.)
In the reviews, users praise the atmosphere and elevate the game to the level of classics like Silent Hill or Resident Evil.
- Lloyd Laugh Love:
Disturbing, unsettling, hopeless, and beautiful. Pure survival horror that I’ve been waiting for since Silent Hill 2.
- P1NKAC1D:
Grandiose old school survival horror with a dystopian, oppressive sci-fi setting. Very dark and weird like Silent Hill, and the sound design and music are strongly reminiscent of it.
- Sakarias88:
An incredibly good game. The worst part is when you’re done and hit by post-game depression because most games are not that good.
Even the German Games Award crowned SIGNALIS with 3 awards. The 2-person studio rose-engine received the Young Talent Award and the award for Best Debut at the event. However, the best award for a horror game is probably the recognition for Best Audio Design.
