In the latest episode of Inside Xbox, new original Xbox games were announced that will soon be playable on the Xbox One thanks to backward compatibility. These include The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and BioWare’s Jade Empire.
Last week, news about backward compatibility for original Xbox games was announced, and now it has become concrete: In the latest edition of Inside Xbox, 19 original Xbox games were announced that will soon be available on the Xbox One.
One highlight is The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, which was released in 2002. The location of the game, the island of Vvardenfell, was added just last year through a new chapter to The Elder Scrolls Online.
Furthermore, six Xbox 360 classics will receive an “Xbox One X Enhanced” update. The update is already available for Sonic Generations, while updates for Darksiders, Gears of War 2, Portal 2, Red Dead Redemption, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed will follow.
Currently, there are already ten original Xbox games playable on the Xbox One in this country, including Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Sid Meier’s Pirates!, and BloodRayne 2.

Microsoft has announced backward compatibility for these original Xbox games for April 17:
- Blinx: The Time Sweeper
- Breakdown
- Conker: Live & Reloaded
- The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
- Hunter: The Reckoning
- Jade Empire
- Panzer Dragoon Orta
- SSX 3
These additional games are set to follow on April 26:
- Destroy All Humans!
- Full Spectrum Warrior
- Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction
- MX Unleashed
- Panzer Elite Action: Fields of Glory
- Star Wars Battlefront
- Star Wars Battlefront II
- Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
- Star Wars Jedi Starfighter
- Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
- Star Wars Republic Commando
Anyone who still owns the original discs of the games can easily have them read by their Xbox One. The games will then be automatically downloaded from the store to the console. Additionally, it is possible to purchase the digital version of the games.
Games offered through Games with Gold are always compatible with the current Xbox One.
