Microsoft has announced the free games for Games with Gold for June 2019. This includes well-known and iconic games for Xbox One and Xbox 360, which many gamers will likely remember and are definitely worth checking out.
Owners of a Games with Gold subscription for Xbox will get four games to choose from in June 2019. We present them to you here.
The free games for Xbox One in June 2019 are:
NHL 19 – from June 1 to June 30: NHL is a game series from EA Sports that introduces you to the world of ice hockey. The sports game allows you to follow your player’s journey from a bloody beginner to exciting matches as an NHL pro.
Rivals of Aether – June 16 to July 15: The platformer Rivals of Aether is a classic retro beat ’em up. With quirky cartoon characters, you fight with your friends or online against other opponents. In story mode, you’ll discover the mysteries of the world surrounding the four elements.
The free games for Xbox 360 in June 2019 are:
Portal – from June 1 to June 15: Portal is arguably one of the most well-known action-adventures ever. The “shooter” from Valve takes you to a test facility of the fictional company Aperture Science, operated by the AI GLaDOS. GLaDOS presents you with increasingly harder puzzles that you must solve with your portal gun and physics, until the tests eventually have to come to a (dark) end…

Earth Defense Force 2017 – from June 16 to June 30: In Earth Defense Force 2017, as the name suggests, you must protect Earth from alien invaders. As a member of the EDF, you fight with an arsenal of weapons and even tanks against giant ants and other creatures threatening the planet. One of the predecessors, Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon, was already included in the Games with Gold in May.
Thanks to backward compatibility, the games for Xbox 360 are also playable on Xbox One.
