The Pirate Day in World of Warcraft is getting new content. A lot of fresh dialogues suggest a new event.
Once a year, the Pirate Day takes place in World of Warcraft. On this day, all players can wander to Booty Bay and celebrate with the pirates who have conquered the bay for this day. Aside from a toy from a rare mob, there isn’t particularly much at this event – so far.
Many new dialogue lines were found in the game files of Patch 7.2.5, hinting at a fundamental overhaul of the event. It would thus be possible for the pirates to launch an actual attack on Booty Bay and ask the players for help.
Otherwise, pirates in Booty Bay – according to the dialogues – do exactly what one would expect from pirates. They tell bad puns, drink the taverns’ beer dry, and loot everything they want.
Particularly interesting: Some passages address the player as “Bloodsail Admiral.” This title is currently tied to a rather lengthy achievement. To be called Bloodsail Admiral, the “Booty Bay” faction must be set to “hostile,” and city guards must be farmed until a respectable reputation with the Bloodsail Buccaneers is achieved. Afterwards, one is of course hated in all Goblin settlements and attacked on sight there.
Whether there will be special content just for the few players who have actually managed to complete this torture of an achievement remains to be seen.
The next Pirate Day in World of Warcraft will take place only on September 19. There is still plenty of time for the developers to implement appropriate plans.
