Warlords of Draenor is now part of the standard version of “World of Warcraft” – but what happened to the level boost?
The WOD expansion is free, but the level boost is missing
A few days ago, Blizzard quietly removed the expansion of World of Warcraft “Warlords of Draenor” from the shop. It is now part of the “Standard” version of World of Warcraft, meaning that anyone who buys World of Warcraft automatically owns all expansions up to “Warlords of Draenor” as well.
The annoying thing about it all: The free boost to level 90 that you received back then as a buyer of Warlords of Draenor is no longer available. The upgrade must either be purchased in the game’s shop or it is received (for level 100) when you pre-order “Legion”, the next expansion.
Mein-MMO states: On one hand, it is certainly a nice thing that Blizzard is now offering the “old” add-on Warlords of Draenor for free, as it lowers the entry barrier for new players and all those who have turned their backs on WoW for several years and now want to return with Legion or the new movie. On the other hand, this offer seems a bit “unclean”, since the former level boost to level 90 is not included, where it was actually wanted that everyone could “experience the current content”.
Those who want to start at a high level must therefore buy a level boost in the shop or already pre-order the next expansion “Legion”, which includes an upgrade to level 100. However, it is also not particularly difficult to play a new character at level 100, which can already be accomplished in just a few evenings even on new accounts.
