The new rewards from the Dreamsurges in World of Warcraft can be farmed quickly – if you know how to do it. With this trick, you’ll be done in one evening.
The Patch 10.1.7 Incarnation of Wrath is live, and one of the new features is the so-called Dreamsurges. Each week, an area of the Dragon Isles is plagued by strange occurrences related to the Emerald Dream. There’s bonus reputation and a new currency called “Dreamsurge Coalescence”.
With this currency, you can buy not only loads of equipment for alternate characters but also cool mounts, pets, and toys. What was originally meant to be a farming effort over several weeks, you can accomplish in just a few hours with a simple trick.
Farming Dreamsurge Coalescence – up to 200 pieces in 5 minutes
What is this trick? The primary source of income for Dreamsurge Coalescence is world quests and rare enemies. However, there is another very fruitful source: green clouds that you find everywhere in the currently active area. When you fly through these clouds with your dragon, you will receive some Dreamsurge Coalescence and also Welpling fragments.
You can find these “green clouds” everywhere – especially in towers or natural “rock arches” that you can fly through beautifully.
I spent a good two hours just collecting these green clouds – and while my dragon’s energy was recovering, I wrote this article.
That was enough for me to be able to buy all the rewards from the vendor that I want.
How much do you collect? That depends on how much is going on in your realm and how well you can handle the dragon. When I was out yesterday around 10 PM in war mode, where there are hardly any players on my realm, I was able to collect about 8–10 of the green clouds per minute.
Each of these green clouds gives 1–5 Dreamsurge Coalescence, so you will average around 27 Dreamsurge Coalescence per minute.
The calculation above is, however, very conservative. Once I knew where the clouds spawn and had a route that suited me, I was able to get around 150 – 200 Dreamsurge Coalescence in 5 minutes.
Even if you do not farm all the rewards this way, you can still save a lot of time or simply kill a few minutes during the wait for a dungeon or a battleground.
An additional tip to finish: Use an “Ink Black Potion” or the toy “Shadow Scales” to set the sky to night. This makes the surroundings darker and the green clouds are bright and visible even from a great distance.
