Although most players have long since completed the story missions of Argus, the new area in World of Warcraft, there is still another quest line that is progressing very slowly. While the war efforts on the Draenei’s home planet advance, there is a particularly long quest line. Here, players gradually upgrade their followers from the order hall piece by piece: first to item level 900, then 925, and finally 950.
These efforts are then rewarded with new, even more challenging order hall missions, which also offer greater rewards. Or not?
On Reddit, the user Nony2 has pointed out that one should not complete the quest Take the Edge off (Etwas weniger Druck). The quest requires you to upgrade 6 followers to item level 950. Completing it does not make the missions more rewarding – but primarily more expensive. The required order resources for the respective rewards increase, and it also becomes harder to succeed in the challenges of the mission.
Thus, the missions after completing the quest line almost always have a success chance of -50%. To get the reward and the bonus, you must increase the success chance by 250%. This almost always means that you have to send at least 2 champions to have any chance of the bonus. Currently, often just one champion and one “weak” follower per mission is sufficient.
Currently, players are still pondering why they should even unlock the new missions. The leading theory here is that new missions will be added with the opening of the raid Antorus, the Burning Throne.
So, anyone who wants to save order resources and still “cash out thickly” with their followers for a while should not complete the quest “Take the Edge off” yet.
Perhaps Blizzard will issue a statement in the coming days or the usefulness of the expensive and challenging missions will become more apparent.
