Today marks the start of the Early Access for World of Warcraft: The War Within. We will tell you what you can experience – and what is not available yet.
The Early Access for World of Warcraft: The War Within begins at midnight for everyone who has purchased the Epic Edition. Players will be able to play for four days before the rest of the fans join in with the official launch – even though most of you will already be playing from tonight.
However, the Early Access is not a full release of the game. Many contents are still disabled or not available at all.
WoW: The War Within – The Contents of the Early Access
What can you experience during the Early Access? The Early Access is primarily designed for taking your time and experiencing the story. Therefore, the following content is unlocked:
- The campaign and all side quests of the areas
- Delves up to level 3
- Dungeons of “Normal” difficulty – both with companion NPCs and with other heroes
- Professions
- Hero talents
What is locked during the Early Access? In plain language, this means that the following content will not be available during the Early Access:
- World Quests
- World Events
- Delves from level 4 and above
- Dungeons on “Heroic,” “Mythic,” or “Mythic+”
What should you do during the Early Access? The answer to that is quite simple: Take your time, enjoy the new areas, experience the campaign, and get one or two characters to the maximum level. It is not worth farming gear during the early access – as there are hardly any sources for solid equipment anyway.
You can enjoy the story at your own pace. If you want to earn a little gold, you can already start farming resources like ores or herbs. This might give you at least a small gold advantage if you can sell these items early in the auction house. While we dive into the 10th expansion, story chief Chris Metzen is already working on the next 7 addons.
