What do I need to know about the Earthen? The Earthen are a titanforged race made of living stone, infused with the essence of Azeroth’s World Soul! These ancient inhabitants have just been freed from the edicts to which they were bound. With boundless curiosity, the Earthen now venture out to explore the world as allies of the Alliance and Horde.
Since the ID switch on September 4, 2024, you can unlock the Earthen as a playable allied race from WoW: The War Within, for both factions of the MMORPG. Below, you’ll learn how to do this in detail and how to obtain the associated traditional armor of the dwarf-like race.
How to Unlock the Earthen
You must fulfill the following requirements for the Earthen:
- Complete the launch campaign of WoW: The War Within.
- Fulfill all quests that have an icon for “Allied Race: Earthen” in the quest text (directly above the quest reward).
The meta achievement “Allied Races: The Earthen” offers you a clear path with its four sub-achievements:
- “Campaign of The War Within”: Complete the entire launch campaign of the expansion, including the four chapters at level 80.
- “Grief Heights”: Start the quest “Before My Departure” by Korgran on the Isle of Thorn (at coordinates 57.4/43) and follow the chain up to and including “The Burden of Duty”.
- “Broken Tools”: Take the quest “Thrown Away and Broken” from Machinist Kittrin (48.2/33.4) in the Sounding Depths and complete it until the follow-up quest “Newly Forged Destiny”.
- “Merrix and Steelspike”: This begins in the capital Thornogal, with the quest “How Scandalous!” by Aldra (62.6/21.8), until you finally reach “Nasty Business”.
If you complete the meta achievement with its four objectives, you may create an Earthen and welcome the mount of the Earthen, the Slate Stone Ramloth, into your collection.
How to Unlock the Traditional Armor of the Earthen
If you reach level 50 with a character from the allied race of the Earthen, you will receive the achievement “Legacy of the Earthen” and the traditional armor of the Earthen. Only Earthen characters can transmog this armor.
Tip: You don’t have to level up manually
. Since The War Within, boosts and race changes for the traditional armors of allied races also work. You can apply a level 70 boost to your freshly created Earthen, or convert an existing character into an Earthen to instantly secure the achievement and traditional armor.
Classes and Racial Abilities of the Earthen
With your freshly earned Earthen you can embark on the following class careers:
- Hunter
- Mage
- Monk
- Paladin
- Priest
- Rogue
- Shaman
- Warlock
- Warrior
The following racial abilities belong specifically to the Earthen:
- Quiet Contemplation: Draws strength from your inner energy. Gradually restores health and mana. You must remain seated while meditating.
- Azerite Woge: The Earthen draw from their inner power by casting an empowered spell that, when triggered, summons the power of Azerite in a cone-shaped area in front of them to damage enemies and support allies.
- Hyper Productive: Increased finesse. Finesse increases the chance to obtain additional materials while gathering.
- Consume Minerals: You are always full but cannot consume food. Eating a gem from Khaz Algar alters the bonus granted by being full (Amber: Stamina, Emerald: Haste, Onyx: Mastery, Ruby: Critical Strike Rating, Sapphire: Versatility).
- Creature of the Titans: Increases the base armor value from equipped items by 10%.
- Amazing Wonders: When you gain experience for discovering a location, you additionally receive 200% exploration experience.
