In World of Warcraft, the raid fever will soon start again. The latest raid “Aberrus, Forge of Shadows” is on the horizon.
Although patch 10.0.7 is only a few weeks old, the next raid “Aberrus, Forge of Shadows” will already start in early May with patch 10.1 Embers of Neltharion. This marks the beginning of the hunt for new tier sets, as well as the race for the “World First Kill” on mythic difficulty for the professional guilds. We have all the dates for Aberrus and will reveal when it starts – including the LFR dates for those who prefer a more laid-back approach.
When does the raid start? As in the last raid tier, the normal, heroic, and mythic difficulty levels will open simultaneously in Aberrus. Only the LFR will open in several staggered waves, meaning it will take a while before you can see all bosses on the lowest difficulty. The dates are:
- May 10: Aberrus opens on normal, heroic, and mythic. Additionally, the first raid wing “Forsaken Works” opens for LFR.
- May 24: The second raid wing “Giant’s Fury” opens for LFR.
- June 7: The third raid wing “Neltharion’s Shadow” opens for LFR.
- June 21: The last raid wing “Threshold of Void” opens for LFR.
This means that right from day one of the raid, the race for the “World First Kill” will begin again. LFR fans, on the other hand, will have to wait a while. Only at the end of June will they be able to face the final boss, Sarkareth, in LFR mode.
The 9 Bosses of Aberrus
A total of 9 bosses are waiting in the depths of Aberrus to be defeated by you – one more boss than in the Vault of Incarnations. The bosses are:
- Kazzara, the Hellforged: A black dragon that Neltharion experimented on a long time ago. However, applying elementium plates drove Kazzara mad.
- The Convergence Chamber: The eternal sea of fire and the essence of shadows were merged here into the infamous Shadowflame.
- The Forgotten Experiments: Neltharion did not immediately capture the Dracthyr. The prototypes that were too unstable to destroy have now been awakened and stand in the way of the heroes of Azeroth.
- Attack of the Zaquali: The Djaradin stormed Aberrus to free one of their Elders. They also won’t be stopped by wannabe heroes.
- Ancient Rashok: The aforementioned Elder of the Djaradin was trapped in Aberrus for a long time, his body served as fuel for the laboratories. As expected, it drove him mad.
- The Attentive Overseer, Zskarn: A long time ago, this draconid was supposed to oversee Neltharion’s experiments and test them in battle; now the champions of Azeroth have captured his attention.
- Magmorax: This giant lava hydra guards the entrance to the deepest levels of the forge and was raised by Neltharion himself.
- Echo of Neltharion: The sanctum of Neltharion is still haunted by phantoms of the past – the master of the house can still be found here in one form or another and does not take kindly to intruders.
- Scale Commander Sarkareth: The leader of the Shardflame has reached the deepest levels of Aberrus and seeks to claim the power that lies dormant here – but that could have fatal consequences.
