The Fight Guild brings a lot of Overwatch to World of Warcraft.
Blizzard is known for constantly including references to other games in their titles. Especially World of Warcraft is overflowing with little hints. This ranges from the 3 “Lost Vikings” in Uldaman to “Wirrets drittes Bein” (Diablo) or the companion for shamans Reghar, who is referred to as Hero of the Storm in English.
With Patch 7.1.5 for World of Warcraft, Blizzard continues this tradition and adds some references to the hero shooter Overwatch in WoW. This mainly happens through the Fight Guild, the “Fight Club” of Azeroth. This is revived with the patch and gets a complete overhaul. However, this also means that players must earn access again – for example, from emissary chests, dungeon bosses, or some elite Vrykul.
The actual references to Overwatch are the individual boss fights that need to be overcome.
A group of boss enemies is called “Ogrewatch” – and for those who need more, they can enjoy the whole names of the individual foes.
- Hudson – A Hozen with a jump module, Tesla cannon, and a shield barrier (Winston).
- Dupree – A human cowboy with a revolver and the “High Noon” ability (McCree).
- Stuffshrew – A goblin with a penchant for explosions and maniacal laughter (Junkrat).
Four more characters have already been extracted from the game data and will likely appear randomly in the fights:
Blinker (Tracer), Boarguy (Roadhog), Render (Reaper), and Steingardt (Reinhardt).
Anyone who wants to give the various characters a pounding should keep an eye out for an invitation to the Fight Guild after the release of Patch 7.1.5.
What World of Warcraft still holds in 2017, we have revealed in this article.
