With the trading post, Blizzard has introduced a new system in World of Warcraft that brings you tons of cosmetic rewards – for a few tasks. Dataminers have now found what could be coming next. These include pets that were previously in the shop.
What are these pets? Mini-Ragnaros and the Pandaren monk are both actually shop pets that have been available for purchase since 2009 and 2010, respectively. They usually cost 10 euros in the in-game shop. Mini-Ragnaros is still available for purchase there; the Pandaren monk has already been gone since January.
Both pets are a kind of miniature: the monk is a small Pandaren who occasionally performs cool tricks and responds to emotes like /bow and /drink. Mini-Ragnaros is the small version of the famous boss from the Molten Core with some special features:
- he does not move but teleports to you when you are very far away
- Mini-Ragnaros serves as a cooking station
How do I get them for free? As dataminers from wowhead found out, both the Pandaren monk and Mini-Ragnaros are supposed to appear as rewards in the trading post “soon”.
There they are supposed to cost 650 trader currencies, which you can easily earn through tasks in the game. In our guide, we tell you which tasks can be completed particularly easily. Additionally, there are supposed to be two more pets:
- Egbob, a small bird that is still in its egg
- Pippin, a robotic dog with a literal heart of gold
When exactly the pets will appear in the shop, if the data is even correct, the dataminers do not yet know. However, they suspect that new rewards will come into the game between March and April.

Datamining on the trading post: More mounts and transmog
In addition to the pets, there should also be at least one more mount, the Magenta Cloud Serpent for 900 currencies. This is a recolor of the known serpent mounts from Mists of Pandaria. Additionally:
- various transmogs, including the Admiral’s Tricorne of Terror
- several transmog sets
- the “Blades of Elune” as well as 2 more mounts and transmogs as possible special rewards
Keep in mind that it is also true here that the information has not been confirmed. In datamining, data is extracted and interpreted. The information is already somewhere in the game, but whether and when it will be implemented is up to the developers.
