On the PTR of World of Warcraft, a change regarding Legendaries for Patch 7.3.5 has appeared. With the upcoming patch, you can buy a random Legendary easily with Refined Titan Essence – thus also providing benefits for Twinks.
In the current build of the PTR (Public Test Realm) for WoW, there is the option to buy an item for Awakening Essences. This creates a random, legendary item for the current loot specialization.
The item can only be used on the character on which it was purchased – but with a trick, you can make this change useful for Twinks!
Buying Legendaries: Here’s How
The new item, the Refined Titan Essence, can simply be purchased from Arcanomancer Vridiel in Dalaran. The elf, where the quests for upgrading legendary items can also be turned in, is located at the forge by an anvil.
To buy the essence, you need 175 Awakening Essences. These were also necessary to upgrade Legendaries to item level 1000.
Update: Since another patch, the awakened titan essences cost 300, the refined ones 1000 awakening essences!
The Refined Titan Essence – Details on the purchasable legendary items
The essence has some peculiarities. It cannot be used to equip your Twinks. Both the awakening essences and the titan essence itself are bound on pickup, not account-bound. Therefore, if you want to buy a Legendary, the character for whom the item is intended must also possess the essences.
Legendaries generated in this way, however, do not count towards the “legendary counter” just like crafted Legendaries! Purchasing and using an essence has no influence on the next regular drop – except that the item obtained cannot be received again.
Passively farming Legendaries for Twinks
Although the essences cannot be passed to other characters on the account, there is a way to equip your Twinks through purchasing!
With the Legendary Tokens introduced in Patch 7.3.2, a character who already has all legendary items of their class can receive a token with some luck. The token can be sent to any character on the account and will generate a Legendary for the current class and loot specialization upon use.
If you already have most legendary items and do not need more on your main, you can simply buy the missing ones. From then on, you have the chance to receive a token with the next regular drop, which you can use to equip your Twinks.
