Wait, Final Fantasy 14 is available for Playstation 4! Right, but not for Xbox One. Many owners of Microsoft’s console wish for a port of the game. However, it is currently uncertain whether that will happen. There is interest from Square Enix, which has been publicly expressed multiple times. However, there appears to be a problem with the compatibility of players on the different versions.
Square Enix wants Xbox One owners to be able to play together with PC players and PS4 owners. However, Microsoft’s reception of this cross-play idea has not been very favorable.
However, Microsoft’s opinion has changed somewhat regarding this issue. Therefore, it cannot be ruled out that there could be a port of the MMORPG for Xbox One. At least last year, it was mentioned that discussions about this possibility were ongoing. So far, nothing has materialized, and we haven’t heard anything about it for a while. However, one should not lose hope, as good things take time.

There are a number of MMORPG classics that would be quite suitable for a console port and that players would surely like to see on Playstation 4 and/or Xbox One. However, the chances of seeing older games as console ports are rather slim. The risk and effort are often too high.
