Everquest 2 faces essentially the same problem that Ultima Online confronts. The game is simply too old to captivate the generation of PS4 and Xbox One players. Furthermore, the MMORPG, like Ultima Online, is far too PC-oriented. A port is therefore highly unlikely.
However, it could serve as a template for a new Everquest, which could be developed with consoles in mind right from the start. But the developer studio Daybreak has not announced any plans in this regard, and Everquest Next, which was touted as the next big AAA MMORPG, was never released. Thus, the development of a new Everquest MMORPG that will also be available for consoles is currently unlikely.
