With Star Wars: The Old Republic, Bioware had a somewhat rocky start in the area of MMORPGs. After release in 2011, the enthusiasm was not very high. However, this changed with the switch to a free-to-play model in 2012. SWTOR has since built a large fanbase, primarily due to its exciting stories. These are structured more like in a single-player RPG and therefore appeal to a broad target audience – not just Star Wars fans.
However, Bioware and Electronic Arts, like Blizzard, have not announced any plans to port the MMORPG to consoles. It would be ideally suited for that, provided the controls and UI were adapted accordingly. Console players would certainly like to dive into adventures and wreak havoc in the universe as Jedi Knights or Sith.
