Blizzard’s latest animated comic for World of Warcraft shows a dramatic moment from the fate of the Nightborne.
The Decision of Grand Magistrix Elisande
To get players and all fans of World of Warcraft excited for the upcoming expansion “Legion”, Blizzard is gradually releasing more stories around the new addon. As a second comic, there is now the story “The Nightborne: Twilight of Suramar”, which is about – who would have guessed – the Nightborne.
These descendants of the Night Elves shut themselves off from the world after the War of the Ancients 10,000 years ago and began a new life in the city of Suramar, along with their new source of magic: the Nightwell. Similar to the High and Blood Elves, the Nightborne have developed a strong dependency on it and quickly turn into empty husks that only crave magic without this source.
When the Burning Legion arrives on the Broken Isles, the Nightborne activate the shield to protect themselves from the demons. Gul’dan contacts the leaders of the Elves and makes them an offer: their lives will be spared if they deactivate the barrier and allow Gul’dan to use the magic of the Nightwell. The constant siege strains the magic reserves of the Elven city, forcing the Grand Magistrix to make a decision whose consequences will affect her entire people.
You can download the complete comic in German here: Link to the official Blizzard page
However, those who are proficient in English should check out the “enhanced” version of the comic with animated images and an excellent soundtrack.
You can find the first comic featuring Moira and Magni Bronzebeard here. Otherwise, it is also worth taking a look at our overview page for World of Warcraft: Legion.
