A new round of nerfs is going live soon in World of Warcraft. Anyone who wants to defeat Queen Ansurek at full strength needs to hurry.
Even though the race for the World First Kill in World of Warcraft: The War Within has long been concluded, it seems Blizzard is still not satisfied with the difficulty of the final boss. This Wednesday (10/16/2024), a major round of adjustments is coming – all of which are very direct nerfs. Both the Mythic and Heroic modes of Queen Ansurek, the final boss in the Palace of Nerub-ar, are affected.
What will be changed? Quite a bit. Both the boss’s health points will be reduced, but many of her abilities will also be simplified. There will be longer casting times occasionally (thus allowing more time to react) or simply a reduction in damage dealt, so that mistakes can be corrected more easily.
Changes to Queen Ansurek on Heroic
- Foaming Toxin deals 15% less damage.
- Doomstrike deals 15% less damage.
- When calculating how many targets are selected by Foaming Toxin, only living characters are included in this calculation.
Changes to Queen Ansurek on Mythic
- Queen Ansurek’s health points have been reduced by 5%.
- Foaming Toxin deals 26.7% less damage.
- Silken Grave has 20% less health points.
- Tear deals 25% less damage.
- The maximum size of Wrapping Silk has been reduced by 10%.
- The casting time of Shadow Passage has been increased by 20%.
- Doomstrike deals 25% less damage.
- The periodic damage of Acolyte Essence has been reduced by 15%.
- The duration of Essence Scarred has been reduced by 50%.
- Royal Judgment deals 10% less damage.
- The health points and barrier of Summoned Acolytes have been reduced by 15%.
- The health points of Royal Bonds have been reduced by 15%.
- When calculating how many targets are selected by Foaming Toxin, only living characters are included in this calculation.
If you want to defeat Queen Ansurek at full strength, you will have to do this today – or benefit from the nerfs starting tomorrow.
Are more nerfs coming? Yes, although only indirectly and not through hotfixes. Starting Wednesday, it will also be possible to complete a repeatable quest at the entrance of the raid. With each completion of the quest, the power of your character increases, making the raid a little easier each week. This is intended to help groups that are struggling and have been frustrated with some bosses.
Even though The War Within has only been live for a few weeks, some groups need to hurry to conquer the raid Palace of Nerub-ar. Because in a few days, Patch 11.0.5 will already arrive and bring a “new, old” raid that comes with many additional rewards and will likely capture the guilds’ attention.
