In World of Warcraft: Legion, the artifact weapons not only have a variety of different designs but also a few hidden skins – each specialization has its own. We will tell you where to find the special skins for the three specializations of the Death Knight.
Blood – Touch of Death
Blood Death Knights who want to secure the alternative skin “Touch of Death” have it relatively easy. They only need to participate in the training of the Withered Army in Suramar every 3 days and achieve over 450 points. Then, at the end of the scenario, the reward chest has a chance to include the corresponding artifact skin.

Frost – Dark Rune Blade
Frost Death Knights must prove considerable endurance or luck, as they only have the chance to obtain their alternative skin “Dark Rune Blade” once every 3 months – but it has a 100% drop chance. The world boss trio “The Soulreapers” in Stormheim drops the skin when defeated. So choose a corresponding group and send the 3 Vrykul back to Helheim.
Unholy – Bone Harvester
Unholy Death Knights love their zombies and ghouls and can look forward to spending a lot of time with their undead companions. However, they must first reach an artifact knowledge level of 6 – only then can they begin the hunt for the hidden skin. To start the search, they only need to summon their Army of the Dead as often as possible. The spell “Apocalypse” can also summon the special ghoul. You will recognize it because it talks to you and can leave Plaguebringer’s journal after its (re)death.
From there, you travel to Icecrown Citadel to the mentioned Professor Plaguebringer and can open a secret trapdoor there. This begins a scenario where you must defeat a monstrosity. The beautiful new skin will then belong to you!
A tip: In the Trial of Fire, you can have the cooldowns of your abilities reset. There you can summon the ghouls as “if on a conveyor belt” and have a chance each time that the special ghoul is among them.
