The times of overpowered tanks are over in World of Warcraft Legion Remix. Powerful buffs make playing DPS or healers worthwhile.
In WoW Legion Remix, phase 2 has begun – this means new content, but also new rewards. Along with this comes a series of major hotfixes and adjustments that tweak the balance. The uncontested reign of tanks is likely over – at least in “Mythic+” dungeons. New buffs make everyone else stronger, while tanks only receive a kind of “consolation prize.”
What was the problem? In the first two weeks of WoW Legion Remix, there was a significant imbalance in roles. Essentially, for every character, the best decision – whenever possible – was to choose a tank specialization. As a tank, one had the greatest success in all content. Enemies in the heroic world were hardly a problem, and even in raids or high-level “Mythic+” dungeons, tank was simply the best choice.
Tanks could hardly die, dealt extremely high damage, and did not even need a healer. They were simply superior to all other specializations: Everyone just played tanks.
Buffs for DPS and healers, tanks receive a weak smile
What has Blizzard changed? A few days ago, the developers introduced buffs for DPS characters and healers. All properties of artifact weapons are 20% stronger when used by healers or DPS characters. However, today (22.10.2025), there were additional changes that are active in all “Mythic+” dungeons. For the three specializations, the following applies during the dungeons:
- Tanks: Tanks receive 10% more healing from other player characters.
- DPS: DPS characters deal 10% more damage, have 100% more health, and take 33% less damage.
- Healers: Healers deal 10% more damage, 10% more healing and absorption, and take 33% less damage.
What are the consequences of these changes? With the changes, it is now significantly more likely that a more balanced group will be formed that does not consist solely of tanks. While a tank is still useful, because in dungeons beyond level “+40” one still often encounters “one-hits,” the times are likely over when only tanks were venturing out.
Legion Remix still runs for almost 3 whole months, but the player base is already eagerly looking forward to the next event. And even if it may sound pointless at first, the fans have a favorite they wish for: Shadowlands Remix.
