The Vrykul King Ymiron does not like you. Nor your mother. In fact, he hates everyone and makes that clear.
At Blizzard, there is a very old tradition of giving characters in their games numerous lines they say when clicked. Merchants start off friendly with “What can I do for you?”, but the more you click them quickly, the sooner they lose their patience. There are such “hidden” lines for almost all NPCs, so when you click around wildly, you often earn a funny comment or two.
Ymiron hates you
While most NPCs only give shallow threats, King Ymiron tends to lose his temper. Warriors can encounter him in their class hall and click on him repeatedly. The good Vrykul is already in a bad mood because he is still denied the long-awaited death – and then some brat in player form with an artifact weapon comes along and wants to give him orders. How Ymiron reacts when you keep bothering him can be heard in the following video by Brett Livingston. And before anyone asks: Yes, the “beeps” are part of the game.
What exactly Ymiron wants to do with us and our family will likely remain a mystery forever. Maybe it’s better that way, because not all mysteries need to be solved. There are other things to discover, like a pink hippogryph reappearing in the game after 10 years.
