New leaks about World of Warcraft are causing a stir. Did a Blizzard employee secretly leak the new addon?
We are in the heated phase before BlizzCon. In just two weeks, Blizzard’s event will take place and is guaranteed to reveal the next expansion of World of Warcraft. During this time, rumors and leaks also sprout from the digital ground, just like fake leaks that want a bit of attention.
A new image was released on Reddit, apparently taken with a mobile phone. It shows the logo of the (possibly) next expansion of World of Warcraft: Tides of Vengeance. The photo was apparently taken from the website that is supposed to promote the new addon.
Normally, one would dismiss this image as “fake” outright – but a similar image with the same logo was posted just a few days ago.
Either someone has gone to great lengths to fake not just one image, but two images – or there is something to these leaks, and Tides of Vengeance will indeed be the next expansion.
The phrase “The waves are her domain … and the storm is her ally” is also not completely convincing for many fans. It sounds “too uncreative” and lacks the substance that Blizzard usually delivers. However, thematically, this phrase would fit very well with a Naga expansion featuring the Old Gods. The new book for World of Warcraft “Before the Storm” would also perfectly match this leak.
Final certainty will probably only come at BlizzCon 2017 – taking place on November 4th and 5th.
What do you think of all the leaks, fantasies, and ideas? Is it fun to speculate or should one just keep quiet and wait for what happens?
