Patch 7.1 for WoW: Legion includes Karazhan, a new raid and more story. In addition, an app for the Order Hall is coming.
The Return to Karazhan in Patch 7.1
Since the developers at Blizzard have set high expectations with World of Warcraft: Legion, a large part of the staff is feverishly working on Patch 7.1, which is expected to be deployed on the test realm in the coming weeks. Under the name “Return to Karazhan”, the patch will mainly include the eponymous instance Karazhan, which receives a new look for 5 players. However, not only have bosses been upgraded and trash packs removed, but entirely new areas have been created. Players can get a first impression of this in the latest trailer.
But the patch offers even more. The Suramar campaign continues, allowing players to finally complete the (presumably) last chapters of the story in this area. Along with that, there will be a series of new world quests that, as before, are tied to the story quests and can be unlocked in that manner.
Ultimately, Patch 7.1 also contains a new, albeit somewhat smaller raid instance with 3 bosses – the “Trial of Valor”. Here, the story surrounding Odyn and Helya is to be brought to a conclusion. In terms of story, there is only one fight against Odyn, who is not killed – he only tests the players to see if they prove to be “worthy”.
Afterward, he sends everyone to Helheim, where they will face Guarm, the three-headed dog of Helya. Finally, they will confront the oversized lady herself. In terms of difficulty, “Trials of Valor” lies between the Nightmare and the Night Fortress, mainly offering quite a few nice trinkets for all classes.
The World of Warcraft: Legion “Companion App”
Aside from these features, an app for Android and iOS devices is set to be released as early as next Tuesday. With this app, various functions of the Order Hall can be managed even outside the game. Upgrades can be explored and champions can be sent on missions, even when you’re not at your own computer.
Anyone who has already unlocked world quests can also get an overview of what needs to be done once they are back home. The rewards received (for instance, from Order Hall missions) will wait in the inventory of the respective character after logging in.
