With Patch 7.3 in WoW, there is again a small boost to the item level. Especially the Legendaries will become even more powerful.
In World of Warcraft, the limit of gear item level is never reached. With each patch and update, the maximum item level continues to rise. This way, players’ characters can become even more powerful and always have the next best reward in sight. After all, this is a significant appeal of new game content, such as fresh zones, dungeons, or raids.
Antorus raises the item level into the four-digit range
With Patch 7.3 Shadows of Argus, all this content comes. This means that the maximum item level will once again be increased, and the carrot for the “best equipment” will dangle a little more in front of players.
- Legendary items receive a new maximum level of 1,000 and are thus the most powerful items available throughout Legion.
- The new cap for titanforged items will be 985, ensuring they remain below legendary items.
The increase of the item level, however, will only take place with the opening of the new raid “Antorus, the Burning Throne”. This will not be released directly at the patch launch but will follow “later this year” – possibly with a mini-patch 7.3.5 in a few months.
Whether there will be a new questline for upgrading legendary items is still uncertain. Since this has always been the case so far, it is to be expected.
After that, Blizzard does not plan to increase the item level in WoW anymore. This further confirms that Patch 7.3 is the last major patch, and afterwards, at least in terms of content, there is not much more to expect. Even if it is promised that there will still be more “story” after Patch 7.3 – in whatever form that may take.
Patch 7.3 actually already has a release date. And there is also a cool cinematic with Illidan!
