World of Warcraft turns one of the most hated quests around. In Patch 8.1.5, you have to kill small turtles that you previously wanted to save.
Hardly any of the world quest quests in World of Warcraft is as well-known as the “Bridgehead” quest. In this, players must protect small turtles that are slowly heading towards the water. They are being attacked by crabs and seagulls that need to be eliminated. Patch 8.1.5 turns the tables, however – from now on, the turtles are being hunted.
Quest starts with the same NPC: The quest also starts again in Patch 8.1.5 with the scrolls master Nola. She is located at various positions on the world map and this time wants you to help the little crabs protect their territory.
The players take on the role of the crab and have to kill the small turtles that are slowly approaching. This is made more difficult by impacting explosions, like those you used to fire yourself.
Nola likes all living beings: As a Tortollan, the scrolls master Nola is herself responsible for the cycle of life and a balance that needs to be maintained. That’s why one should also support the crabs when they need help.
However, she just can’t help but cheer on the little turtles when they reach the water.
Best phrase is back: Also joining is the popular phrase “A turtle made it to the water!”, which is one of the most well-known voice lines from World of Warcraft. This sentence has imprinted itself so much in the community that there are numerous memes or even entire songs about it, like this one:
Community is divided: The reactions among players to these quests are mixed. Some are looking forward to finally taking revenge on the turtles that have stolen so much playtime from them with their slow-motion movement. Other players see the whole thing more critically:
“To betray Sylvanas? Ok. To serve the old god N’Zoth? Alright. To kill turtle babies? Never.”
