The Warglaives of Azzinoth are available in the WoW patch 7.2.5 for Demon Hunters. However, this means a lot of work beforehand.
Just yesterday, we reported that the Warglaives of Azzinoth are making their return to World of Warcraft. During the expansion “The Burning Crusade,” these legendary weapons from Illidan could be obtained in the Black Temple. However, they were rare drops, and the individual blades had only about a 4% chance to appear in the end.
With patch 7.2.5, the blades return, as there will be a timewalking raid “The Black Temple,” where all players will be reset to the state back then and can experience the old bosses at least somewhat challenging.
As Buffed reports, there is, however, a significant catch: Anyone who wants the Warglaives of Azzinoth as a model for transmogrification must have the original blades – that is, from the Black Temple in the level 70 variant. Only when the achievement “Warglaives of Azzinoth” is completed can one obtain the new skin in patch 7.2.5. Since both blades are required, this could require a lot of visits to the Black Temple.
Only afterwards do you still have to defeat Illidan in the timewalking version of the Black Temple, as the achievement “I’ll Hold These For You Until You Get Out” specifically states in its description that Illidan (timewalking) must be defeated only after obtaining the set of Warglaives. The transmogrification will then be the reward.
Whether it is sufficient to have completed the Warglaives achievement on another character is still unknown. Since this is only a character achievement and not an account achievement, it seems unlikely.
Anyone who wants to enjoy the new skin should already lead their Demon Hunter through the Black Temple every week. At level 110, this is, however, absolutely no challenge anymore, and a single run should be manageable within about 30 minutes – most of it already falls during the viewing.
