If you want to follow all the content of BlizzCon 2018 live at home and grab some goodies, you need a Virtual Ticket. As a “World of Warcraft” player, you can easily buy this for WoW gold without spending real money. We explain how it works.
Buy a Virtual Ticket to BlizzCon with gold: World of Warcraft offers you the option to buy “WoW Tokens” with gold earned in the game. You can exchange these for game time or real money when activated.
How to buy a Virtual Ticket with WoW gold
Buying a token: The WoW Token has a specific price in the game, which fluctuates based on supply and demand. If you buy a token through the auction house in the “WoW Token” tab, you have two options when using it:
- redeem for 30 days of game time
- or redeem for €13 Battle.net balance
The cost of a ticket: A Virtual Ticket costs €39.99. You will need 4 tokens unless you already own Battle.net balance. Currently, a token costs 171,974 gold (as of October 3 at 4:40 PM).
To buy a Virtual Ticket with gold only, you need 687,896 gold. Currently, the WoW Token is at a very low level. However, it is possible and likely that the price will rise soon due to BlizzCon.

How to save some gold: If you pay the full gold price, you will have €12.01 left in your account. If you want to save some gold, for example, because crafting is so expensive, it is also sufficient if you buy 3 tokens for 515,922 gold.
You can then also load €10 directly through the shop (minimum recharge). This leaves you with €9.01 in your account.
What does a Virtual Ticket bring me? With a Virtual Ticket, you have several advantages if you want to follow BlizzCon 2018 from November 2-4. You have access to all stages and performances and can also view videos as VOD afterwards.
However, you also receive some content in the games:
- If you play Overwatch, you get a Demon Hunter skin for Sombra.
- WoW players receive capes and battle banners in faction colors – which has somewhat disappointed the community.
If you prefer physical goodies, there is also a goodie bag for BlizzCon 2018, which you can buy directly from the Blizzard Gear Store. You will receive a €10 discount on this bag if you own a Virtual Ticket.
What do I do with the leftover money? In any case, you have some money left in your account. You can either save it for upcoming purchases or spend it on in-game content.
