Moonwells
Moonwells are not as significant as the wells mentioned previously – but a list without “Elven Wells” would not be complete if they were omitted.
How are Moonwells created? Moonwells seem at first glance to contradict the culture of the night elves. For although night elves have renounced arcane magic, a part of it can be found in the Moonwells. This is also due to the fact that Moonwells contain a strongly diluted portion of the Well of Eternity.
However, Moonwells are more associated with nature and moon magic. For a well to be “purified and accepted,” the night elves must first obtain the consent of the surrounding nature and then bless the well with the light of Elune.
Moonwells represent an anchor for the coexistence of the night elves with nature. They purify the surrounding nature and have strong healing abilities. Spellcasters feel drawn to these wells and can refresh their magical powers there – a situation that displeases most night elves.

What are the dangers of Moonwells? In contrast to the other elven wells, the dangers of Moonwells are relatively low – as they also possess significantly less power. Although there are always examples in which Moonwells in a corrupted state granted more power to shady figures such as demons, warlocks, or necromancers, this can be said for almost all magical sources in Azeroth.
The greatest danger from a corrupted Moonwell is probably to the directly surrounding nature. For while a “healthy” Moonwell cleanses and nourishes nature, a corrupted Moonwell does the exact opposite, contributing to the rapid decay of the surrounding land or being corrupted by dark magic.
