Blizzard and Facebook implement streaming via Battle.net. The latest alpha version of the software provides a taste.
Stream quality still improvable
The Battle.net software has received an update – at least in the alpha testing version. The already announced feature to stream various Blizzard games like WoW, Overwatch or Hearthstone directly via Facebook is included in this version. While it is still in an early stage, the colleagues at wowhead have already taken a closer look at the feature. The menus currently only have basic options, allowing manual settings for whether only the displayed game should be transmitted, or also sound from the microphone or a transmission from the webcam.
As the system will be tightly integrated with Facebook, various privacy settings will also be added, such as the option to make the stream accessible only to friends or the public, and additionally to set whether it should appear in the timeline.
mmo-champion has already experimented with this feature using Hearthstone and created a small test video.
The quality is currently still poor, but the service is only in testing – there will surely be significant improvements to the quality before the actual release.
