Exorsus has released a video of the first kill of Gul’dan, the current final boss of World of Warcraft: Legion.
After a final boss is defeated for the first time on Mythic difficulty in World of Warcraft, the victorious guilds typically allow some time to pass. This way, they do not reveal tactics to the “latecomers” and do not skew the ranking in positions 2 to 5. Once more and more guilds have defeated the boss themselves, kill videos pop up from all corners.
The “World First Kill” of Gul’dan has been put into a nearly 20-minute video by Exorsus, which you can watch here:
What’s particularly cool about the boss fight is the “hidden” final phase, which can only be seen on Mythic difficulty. Here, players once again face the “freshly awakened” Illidan, who seems to still be a little confused or possessed and turns directly against the heroes.
The final phase has many parallels to the Illidan fight from the Black Temple in “The Burning Crusade”, which was very well received by raiders and story fans.
Cortyn says: When you see a video like this from the pros (and their abnormal damage numbers), you can’t help but be amazed – at least if you are actively raiding yourself. While we are still struggling in the heroic Nightforge, the pros are easily delivering double to triple the damage output in the Mythic version. Together with all the coordination and reaction speed, such a kill video always reminds us how strenuous raiding at the highest level is.
