7 Tips to be prepared for Battle for Azeroth
We offer you 7 tips that should help you succeed on Kul Tiras and Battle for Azeroth.
Clear the Quest Log
New areas also mean new missions and quests. Few things are more annoying than realizing during cheerful leveling that certain tasks can no longer be accepted because the limit of 25 active quests in the quest log has been reached. Therefore, think ahead about which missions you no longer need and be honest about it.
Will you really ever continue the Gladiator quests from Draenor that have been sitting in your quest log for 4 years? Will you really ever rescue the 1000 souls of the Vrykul from Helya?
Tackle these quests now or finally delete them from the quest log. You will need the space in Battle for Azeroth for new tasks.
Clean the Bank
Just like the quest log, the bank should also be cleaned up, at least the tab for crafting materials. Do you see all the materials from Legion that you painstakingly collected over weeks and months? Turn them into gold in the auction house or just shove them in the face of the next trader.
You will not need these materials anymore. With Battle for Azeroth, there are numerous new crafting materials that will take up space. If you really can’t part with them, send them to an alt character, a ‘bank twink’.
Clean the Bags
Even more important than space in the bank is space in your bags. Each character should have at least 60 slots free while leveling, as there are numerous items in Battle for Azeroth.
Of course, you can disdain these gray items, but doing so could mean losing several thousand gold while leveling. This “vendor crap” is a solid gold source to at least supplement the character’s pocket money a little.
It is worthwhile to go through your bags one slot at a time and decide what can be thrown out. Many still have old quest items from Legion in their bags or former equipment that is no longer needed. If you don’t want to part with an item at all, just put it in the empty bank.
Get a Vendor Mount
Few things are as annoying as full bags while questing. To further prevent this issue besides cleaning up your bag, it is advisable to purchase a mount equipped with its own vendors. The cheapest option here is the “Traveler’s Tundra Mammoth”, which can be bought for 20,000 gold in the old Dalaran (Northrend).
The gold amount can now be earned in just a few days. In the long run, the mount will pay off, as you can also sell gray items in the middle of enemy territory and free up valuable bag space.
Obtain a Water Mount
If you want to get the last bit of efficiency from your character, you should obtain a mount that can walk on water. Kul Tiras and Zandalar are both large islands, and in many places you need to swim or can take shortcuts. The two “water striders” that can walk on water are both associated with the secondary profession of fishing.
The reins of the Azure Water Strider can be obtained in Pandaria from the fishermen in Krasarang Wilds for 5,000 gold. A revered reputation is required. Reputation can be gained primarily through daily fishing quests where you must hand over rare fish to the fishermen.
The reins of the Purple Water Strider can be obtained in the garrison from Nat Pagle for 100 “Nat’s Lucky Coins”. The “Best Friend” reputation is necessary. The lucky coins can be obtained for catching particularly rare fish in Draenor.
Death Knights and Shamans can forgo such a mount, as they simply walk over water with Frozen Paths or Water Walking.
Pack Buff Food and Potions
If you still have resources left from Legion, you should create potions, flasks, or food with boosting effects from them. Later in the expansion, these items will no longer be useful, so use them generously while leveling, questing, and visiting dungeons.
The bear tartare proves particularly useful, as it gives you a short “Sprint” effect after defeating a monster and allows you to rush to the next enemy.
Plan the Leveling Route
It pays to roughly plan how to proceed with a character before the addon starts. Especially in the first hours and days, the new areas of Zandalar and Kul Tiras are overcrowded, and it can be quite “annoying” when players trigger events or when you have to wait for the respawn of quest enemies. While the individual wait times are often not that long, together they can spoil the fun of the game.
Horde players should get accustomed to the area of Vol’dun. This desert area is only briefly mentioned in the introductory quest and seems to be loosely connected to the main story. Most players will likely flow to Zuldazar and Nazmir at the start to face the Blood Trolls.
On the Alliance side, the northern area of Tiragarde Sound may offer a good opportunity. There are many side quests through which we gained almost three levels in the beta – a main quest does not lead there. Alternatively, the Stormsong Valley also offers opportunities, which might initially seem too “calm and relaxing” for many players.
This tip is, however, only speculation based on the experience from Legion and should therefore be taken with caution.
Of course, you can also simply ignore all these tips and experience the new expansion Battle for Azeroth as you wish. Sometimes a little aimless wandering into unknown territories has its own charm, doesn’t it?
