Dark Iron Dwarves will never need portals in WoW because they can upgrade their Mole Machine. We will show you how!
With World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth, the Alliance gains a new allied race, the Dark Iron Dwarves. Like all playable races, the Dark Iron Dwarves have some unique racial abilities. However, only the dark dwarf brothers and sisters can expand and enhance their racial ability!
What is the Mole Machine? The Mole Machine of the Dark Iron Dwarves is a racial ability where Dark Iron Dwarves summon a mole drill and then get in to teleport to various locations in the world. It works like a hearthstone or a mage portal.
Where does the Mole Machine take you? By default, the Mole Machine only has three destinations available: Stormwind, Ironforge, and the Shadowforge (the “home” of the Dark Iron Dwarves). However, many more locations can be added, creating a vast network of Mole Machines!
To unlock the new destinations for the Mole Machine, you need to visit the respective locations and click on a Mole Machine there. Afterward, these locations can also be accessed with the racial ability!

The new destinations for the Dark Iron Mole Machine
The players from the “Secret Finding” Discord server have already identified 16 new locations where you can upgrade the Mole Machine. To do this, travel to the respective locations with your Dark Iron Dwarf (as soon as they are playable), click on the machines, and you can then use them in the future. The exact coordinates for each location are provided in brackets, which can be displayed with various addons (such as “MapCoords”).

- Blasted Lands, Nethergarde Keep (62 / 13)
- Blackrock Mountain (in front of the entrance to the BRD dungeon) (33 / 25)
- Hinterlands, Nest Peak (14 / 47)
- Mount Hyjal, Throne of Flame (57 / 77)
- Southshore, The Great Rift (39 / 9)
- Un’Goro Crater, Firepillar Ridge (52 / 56)
- Shadowmoon Valley (Outland), Demon Pits (51 / 35)
- Blade’s Edge Mountains, Skald (72 / 18)
- Icecrown, Argent Tournament Grounds (77 / 19)
- Dragonblight, Ruby Dragonshrine (45 / 50)
- Kun-Lai Summit, A Barrel (58 / 63)
- Valley of the Four Winds, Stormbrew Brewery (31 / 74)
- Gorgrond, Blackrock Foundry (47 / 39)
- Nagrand (Draenor), Elemental Plateau (66 / 8)
- Highmountain, Neltharion’s Lair (45 / 73)
- Broken Shore (72 / 48)

It’s not entirely logical that one can dig through the crust of Azeroth with the Mole Machine and thus reach other worlds like Draenor or Outland – but that seems to be overlooked.
Players of Dark Iron Dwarves will therefore have better travel options than mages. Those who want complete freedom should of course play a Dark Iron mage.
