Enthusiastic fans of Mythic+ in World of Warcraft are dissatisfied. They have achieved everything – and still want more loot.
Although World of Warcraft: The War Within has only just started its first season a few weeks ago, some players have already achieved everything they want to achieve – especially regarding dungeons. As a result, there is a desire to get even more from these dungeons. Absurd, some of the community thinks. Because WoW finally respects the time invested, and that is simply the consequence.
What is the problem? If you currently look into the WoW forums or the game’s subreddit, many are quite satisfied with The War Within. However, there is also criticism, especially from fans who eagerly dive into the Mythic+ dungeons. Those who have gone full throttle here may have reached the end of the line.
The demand of these players: M+ should offer even more rewards so they can get even better loot.
WoW respects time: Something that has been criticized repeatedly in the past about World of Warcraft is the fact that “World of Warcraft does not respect players’ time.” The accusation is that you have to repeat many tedious contents on multiple characters – like quests, reputation farming, or other forms of preparation for the “real” content you want to play.
This has changed. WoW now has plenty of content that you only have to play once and has also made it much easier to play secondary characters:
- Quests only need to be completed once.
- Reputation or glory is account-wide.
- All content drops loot that is bound to the war party and can be sent to your twinks.
- Ratings in “Mythic+” can now be earned within a week and no longer alternate between Tyrannical / Fortified.
Many also find that this is a good thing in the WoW subreddit in the post “If you already capped out on M+ in two weeks, that’s your fault.” There, RagefireHype explains:
People have the impression that M+ should give even more equipment than it currently does.
Look, if you already have your character near item level 620, that is not M+’s fault.
We have praised the game for giving us gear in various ways. And if you are close to 620 without mythic raiding, then the answer is very clear, right?
The game has, firstly, respected your time. Secondly, it is your time to decide whether you want to mythic raid, as that is the only form of upgrade other than the big treasure chests that you can still receive.
Everything builds toward the decision to either mythic raid, play secondary characters (which is very feasible in this expansion), or take a break.Isn’t that what we wanted? To see posts about M+ and comments that M+ should offer more is just wild. Item level 620 is already ABOVE the average item level for all heroic gear.
Seasons do not consist of two weeks. You shouldn’t have had to rush through the first two weeks in turbo.
The post has gathered more than 3,300 upvotes within a day and seems to summarize the thoughts of many players. WoW now respects everyone’s time more, making some goals easier to achieve. Those who then only play one type of content and do so very excessively can reach all goals in relatively short time. Fans have called for this for a long time – now that it is possible, it seems that is not quite right again.
What do you think about this thing? Do you believe WoW offers enough to do, and is it good that goals and the “maximum” can be reached relatively quickly? Or should WoW tend more towards the “old” direction, where you had to play content for weeks and months to finally master it?
Others take their loot solo – for example, from dungeons that are super easy as a tank.
