The next patch of World of Warcraft finally has some news. It is supposed to start in two weeks – at least the tests.
There is currently a bad mood around World of Warcraft. Slowly but surely, the content of Patch 9.0 has become stale for many players. The changes to the sale of game time have put off some players, and Patch 9.1 is still far away. All of this is affecting the mood – but now there is a glimmer of hope.
What was said? In a blue post, Blizzard revealed what the plans for Patch 9.1 Chains of Domination look like. This is the first major content update of Shadowlands and is set to appear on the PTR in 2 weeks – that would be April 13.
Furthermore, it says: “The details for the raid tests will be announced approximately one week after the PTR starts.”
This will give professional raiders something to look forward to as they usually practice the bosses on the PTR to be as prepared as possible for the “World First” race.
What’s included in Patch 9.1? Patch 9.1 Chains of Domination will be quite a large patch that brings a lot of new features that will need to be tested extensively. Highlights include:
- New mega-dungeon with 8 bosses.
- New raid with 10 bosses set in Torghast. Sylvanas will be the final boss in this raid.
- New area in the Maw.
- New content for the covenant campaign.
- Expansion of some covenant elements, such as new tiers for soulbinding and adjustments to media.
In addition, there’s the usual “fluff” that every WoW patch brings. This includes pets, mounts, new achievements, and maybe some secrets.
Announcement is strange: It is particularly unusual that Blizzard announces the patch 2 weeks in advance before the PTR even goes live. This seems to address the discontent and negative mood that currently prevails. There are many speculations that Patch 9.1 may not appear until after summer. An announcement that Patch 9.1 will at least appear soon on the PTR is a small glimmer of hope.
We’ll find out in two weeks in what state Patch 9.1 will arrive on the PTR. This should also give a rough insight into when we can expect the official release of the patch.
Will you check out the patch on the PTR? Or are you patiently waiting for it to go live?
