With the new expansion Battle for Azeroth, many players in World of Warcraft want to return to crafting professions. However, the most valuable items at the start require a special resource that presents some players with challenges: Expulsom. In this short mini-guide, we will reveal how to obtain the coveted Expulsom.
Guide – Farming Expulsom in WoW: Battle for Azeroth
The crafting material Expulsom is primarily obtained from one source: equipment items. Whether green, blue, or epic quality, every equippable item from Battle for Azeroth can yield Expulsom.
The Scrap-O-Matic creates Expulsom. When you find items during your journey, do not throw them away or sell them. Instead, take them to the Scrap-O-Matic in Boralus or Dazar’Alor. There you can “scrap” the items. This will provide you with various crafting materials. Depending on what you feed into the machine, you will receive different materials. Cloth armor grants cloth, while plate armor yields ores.
All items have a chance to additionally grant Expulsom! You can also disassemble items that you crafted yourself.
How do I find the Scrapper? The Scrap-O-Matic, also known as “Scrapper”, is easy to find. It is located near the craftsmen in your respective capital city. If you need an exact location, ask a guard and inquire about the profession trainer for engineering. The Scrapper is just one stand further.
Higher item level, higher chance? It is still too early to provide reliable numbers on which items grant Expulsom more frequently or rarely. However, it currently seems that a higher item level has a greater chance of yielding Expulsom when disassembled. Since you will throw all items into the Scrap-O-Matic anyway, it makes no difference.
Alchemists have a bonus chance. Alchemists can additionally obtain a bit more Expulsom, as they have the ability “Transmute: Expulsom”. They need:
- 10x Akunda’s Bite
- 10x Winter’s Kiss
- 3x Anchor Weed
This creates 5 Expulsom but can only be used once per day.
Expulsom is soulbound. But be careful: Expulsom is soulbound. You can only use it yourself!
