Patch 7.0.3 introduced a new currency in World of Warcraft: Honor Badges. But what are they good for in WoW Legion? What do you do with them? We reveal their usefulness.
Honor Badges: The new currency for old PvP gear
With the introduction of the pre-patch for World of Warcraft: Legion, many things changed in the game world of Azeroth. One of these changes was the elimination of Honor and Conquest points. But how do you now get all the old PvP gear that you would love to use for transmogging?
Blizzard has not forgotten this and has introduced a new currency in the Honor System: the Honor Badges. These are obtained from the reward caches for various PvP activities. Rated and unrated battlegrounds, arenas, and visiting Ashran are rewarded with chests that may contain some of these Honor Badges.
Afterwards, the Honor Badges can be exchanged for the desired old PvP gear. This exchange still takes place at the vendors who have always offered this gear – for instance, in Stormwind, Orgrimmar, Warspear, and Stormshield.
Additionally, some small comfort features were implemented. For example, if you want to buy the entire “set” of weapons from a specific season, you can simply use an item that unlocks all weapon skins of the respective season. The same applies to most armor sets. Also, the PvP mounts that were previously available for Honor can now only be acquired with Honor Badges.
Furthermore, some items have been completely removed from the vendors’ inventory. Especially trinkets and rings have disappeared – logically, since they cannot be used for transmogging.
