World of Warcraft turns back time. Many items from the past will soon be back in the game – and transmog fans are crying tears of joy.
The World of Warcraft is in constant change. When a new addon is released, the game world changes. This does not only mean new content, but often also the loss of old content. This was most evident with the release of WoW: Cataclysm in 2010. The overhaul of the old world brought many improvements – but also the removal of numerous unique rewards.
With the Patch 10.1.7 Incarnation of Wrath, the developers are turning back time and bringing back hundreds of items that were considered lost forever.
What has Blizzard done? Blizzard has already published the patch notes for Patch 10.1.7 Incarnation of Wrath. There is a small, somewhat inconspicuous entry that can easily be overlooked. It reads:
“Hundreds of items from zone loot and rare enemies lost through the Cataclysm have been faithfully (or at least almost) restored. Good luck hunting for transmogs!”
Which items are affected? A precise list of the returnable items is not yet available and it will likely take weeks, if not months, until all returned items have truly been found. However, if you are leveling a new character soon and doing so in the “old areas” of Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, keep an eye out for rare enemies or new finds – you might discover nice items for your collection.
It is clear, however, that transmog collectors will have quite a large “To Do” list starting next Wednesday. Because the transmog collection needs to be filled …
Which item would you definitely want to see again?
A highlight of the next patch is also the traditional armor of the Night Elves.
