Stranger Things and the Muppets are immortalized in Battle for Azeroth. We show you the new cool Easter eggs in WoW!
The first zones in Battle for Azeroth, the next expansion of World of Warcraft, are accessible. While the lucky players of the Alpha explore the new zones, they keep their eyes open for hidden references and Easter eggs. A few of them have already been found, as reported by the colleagues at wowhead.
The most apparent are two references, one to the Netflix series “Stranger Things” and “the Muppets”.
The cute “Dart” from Stranger Things 2
If you quest through Nazmir, you will end up with a very special pet – the strange creature “Dart”. For fans of the mystery series Stranger Things who have already seen the second season, all alarms should be ringing now.
There, “Dart” is a short form of D’Artagnan, a initially cute creature found by the protagonists. Later, Dart evolves further and it becomes apparent that Dart is just a pre-form of the feared Demogorgon from Season 1.
Visually, Dart in WoW comes quite close to D’Artagnan from Stranger Things.
All we can do is hope that little Dart in WoW remains in its cute form. Otherwise, Azeroth will soon have bigger problems than just simple wars between Horde and Alliance.
The Muppets – Kremit and Miggy
Also residing in Nazmir is a reference to the Muppets. Instead of Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, you encounter the NPC creatures Kremit and Miggy next to a guitar. If you stick around long enough, you will also be able to see a rainbow before music starts playing! Even the piglet Miggy then begins to “sing” (it just happily grunts).
This is a reference to Kermit, who sings the song “The Rainbow Connection”.
