The current final boss of WoW: Shadowlands is getting hit by the nerf bat one more time. Last chance for the Mythic achievement.
Slowly, very slowly the next update of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands can be seen on the horizon. The Patch 9.1 Chains of Domination is gradually taking shape on the PTR and marks the end of interest in the raid Castle Nathria. To ensure that the last raiders can still defeat Denathrius on mythic difficulty before the new patch, there will be another small nerf.
What will be changed? Although the health points or pure strength of Denathrius will not be changed, there will be an adjustment in the transition from Phase 2 to Phase 3. This will now be triggered as follows:
Phase 2 now ends when Denathrius reaches 37% of his health (previously 40%) or when 225 seconds have elapsed (previously 210 seconds).
What are the implications? What may sound like a minor adjustment can have significant effects and give some guilds the necessary boost to still kill the boss. Because with a later start of Phase 3, less health needs to be deducted in this phase. Therefore, slightly less DPS is also required to ultimately defeat Denathrius. As Phase 3 is also shorter, the likelihood that the entire area is covered with a deadly void zone until his kill decreases.
Overall, guilds now need to deal about 7.5% less damage in Phase 3 to defeat Denathrius. This makes it possible to potentially compensate for 1-2 deaths, which would otherwise have been an automatic reason to “wipe”.
This brings the achievement within reach for many.
Which achievement is it about? It is about the achievement “Top Notch: Lord Denathrius”. While this time it is not rewarded with a mount – just like the heroic achievement – it will not be available anymore with Patch 9.1. Therefore, it is at least an exclusive title for your collection. By the way, there is at least the title Sinbreaker – although all other players can also obtain it more easily in a few weeks when they can tackle the mythic Denathrius with better gear.
