In World of Warcraft, there are many secrets and numerous mounts – even in The War Within. Especially Alunira catches the eye of many players early on, as it flies almost on a silver platter around the heroes. However, obtaining this mount is not so easy, as it requires a lot of time investment.
We will tell you how to attack Alunira and obtain it as a permanent mount.
What is Alunira? Alunira is a rare elite enemy on the island of Thorn. Many will have spotted this rare foe on their minimap right after arriving in the new expansion. However, this enemy is not so easily accessible. Alunira not only flies high in the sky, but it is also untargetable. To make this possible, you have to farm a lot.
Alunira is also the name of a mount. When you kill Alunira, it will definitely drop itself as a mount.
Where can you find Alunira? You can find Alunira on the island of Thorn, right in the west near Dhar Oztan – the coordinates are 23 / 58. The exact location is also shown on this map:
How can you attack Alunira? To attack Alunira, you need to remove her shield with a “Storm Vessel.” You can only obtain this vessel by combining 10 “Crackling Shards” together.
That, however, is the exhausting part. The shards are epic and have a low chance of dropping from all mobs on the island of Thorn. The drop chance is extremely low. It’s quite possible that you complete all quests in the area without managing to get a single shard.
What is the best way to farm the shards? There are several ways to farm the shards. Either join a farming group that you can often see in the search tool – or take it a bit more relaxed. Since all mobs on the island of Thorn can drop the shards and are also bound to your war party, you can take your time. If you level up other characters, just complete the quests on the island of Thorn again. This way, you will automatically kill many enemies and have the chance to get shards repeatedly.
Can the mount be looted together? No, that is not possible. Only the person who uses the Storm Vessel is guaranteed to receive the mount. Whether other players also have a chance for the mount is not yet known. However, it is to be expected that each person must farm their own Storm Vessel if they want Alunira in their collection.
